For parents & teachers
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said that whoever says this when leaving home is told: you are guided, you are looked after and you are protected. That is a comforting thought for a child heading to school or nursery. Say it at the front door every morning, shoes on, hand on the door handle, so the place becomes the reminder. The second line, la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah, is worth learning on its own too: it is the words we say when something feels too big for us.
By age: Ages 3–5: the first line. Ages 5 and up: both lines.
