Masjids of the World
Part 1: Mecca, Madinah and Jerusalem
More in this theme: Masjids of the World
The first part of Masjids of the World visits the three places Muslims hold most dear: Masjid al-Haram in Mecca, the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah and the blessed Al-Aqsa compound in Jerusalem, with Quba Mosque and the Dome of the Rock alongside. Each drawing is detailed enough for children of five to eight and is printed with one simple fact. The last page asks your child to draw their own local masjid. The notes here give grown-ups a little more history and a few questions, which makes the pack a ready-made lesson for an Islamic school, a weekend class or a quiet afternoon at home.
